NEST SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME BY GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN

The COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing transformation in global healthcare have underscored the critical role of nursing and midwifery in the healthcare system. In Pakistan, there are approximately 80,000 nurses, while the demand is estimated to be between 800,000 and 1 million. To address this gap, many institutions have joined efforts to invest in the nursing and midwifery fields.

To support this initiative, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (FE&PT) launched the National Endowment Scholarships for Talent (NEST) for the nursing profession. This four-year scholarship program provides financial support to students pursuing a nursing degree. Additionally, Dilshad College of Nursing Swat offers its own financial assistance program, where deserving students are provided with scholarships based on their financial needs. To date, more than 30 students have benefitted from this support, enabling them to turn their aspirations into reality.

HOW TO APPLY?
In 2020, Dilshad College of Nursing Swat received fifteen (15) NEST scholarships, and in 2021, four (04) scholarships for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Generic BSN) program as a partner institution. Interested students are required to apply using the prescribed scholarship application form for BSN (GEN). Students must also fill out and print the Declaration forms on the required stamp papers. Once completed, the application and declaration forms should be submitted to Babar Khan along with the necessary documents.

NOTE: Any application form submitted directly to NEST will not be considered. NEST scholarships will only be granted to students shortlisted by the college.
